Over the past year, the Morrisville-Eaton Central School District has been actively working to establish a sustainable path for our future. In line with these efforts, the Boards of Education for both the Morrisville-Eaton and Cazenovia School Districts authorized their Superintendents to initiate a merger study in September. Before we proceed further, I would like to update you on where we’ve been, our current standing, and our future goals.
To provide this information, we have scheduled two Town Hall Meetings. The first will take place at Edward R. Andrews Elementary School on November 20th at 6:30 PM. The second will be held at the Middle/High School Auditorium on December 10th at 6:30 PM. These meetings will cover the strategies we are exploring and outline the anticipated components of the merger study.
We are excited about the potential opportunities for our students through a merged district, including the possibility of securing over $60 million in additional funding over the next 15 years. This merger could also lead to long-term operational savings through staffing efficiencies.
If you are unable to attend either of the Town Hall Meetings but would like to learn more about the District’s future, please contact District Clerk Jessica McCann at (315) 684-9300 to arrange a meeting with Superintendent Molloy.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement in this important endeavor.
